WindomBarbie Windom, Director
Barbie has been the UTC Director since 2005. Prior to that she served the UTC in many other roles, including tutor, SI leader, SI supervisor, graduate assistant, Math Coordinator, and Assistant Director. She is a graduate of NC State (BS, Physics, and MS, Operations Research) and has taught MA 107, MA 141 and PY 211.  She is also currently a proud Wolfpack parent!

Nathanael (Nate) Cline, Associate Director
Nate earned both his B.S. in Chemistry and M. Ed. in Science Education from NC State. As an undergraduate student, he worked as a tutor and SI leader for the UTC for a total of six semesters. After graduation he worked with math and chemistry students at the secondary level before joining the UTC staff in 2014 to oversee the Weekly Assigned tutoring program.  Nate currently supervises the Supplemental Instruction and Small Group Tutoring programs.



Wendy VanDellon, Assistant Directorrsz_1rsz_1wendy_summer16

Wendy earned her BA in English from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York; MA in English Rhetoric and Composition from Ohio University; and Ph.D. in Composition from the University of New Hampshire. She has tutored in two different tutoring centers as a writing center assistant, worked with a writing across the curriculum program, taught a variety of classes, and overseen several local publications. Wendy oversees the Writing and Speaking tutorial programs. She currently lives in Raleigh with her husband Chad.



Robin Smith, Tutor Coordinator


Robin received her Ph.D. in English Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill in May 2018. Her dissertation research focused on working-class poetry in nineteenth-century America. She has worked as a writing tutor, an academic coach, and a tutor mentor at writing and learning centers at UNC-CH and at the College of William & Mary, her undergraduate institution. She has also taught a variety of writing and literature courses and been a program assistant for a summer program that promotes diversity in higher education. She has lived in Carrboro for ten years and currently works with the Weekly Assigned and Drop-In Tutoring programs.

Elizabeth Jereb, University Program Associate
Betsy received her BA in Economics and Psychology at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1983. She also earned a Database Management Certificate at Wake Tech Community College in July, 2002. She began working for the UTC in September, 2004. Betsy and her husband, Rick, have two children, Cameron and Michelle.
